The Importance of Space
Friday 15th August, 1pm - 6pm
EAF Pavilion, Outer Spaces, 45 Leith Street, Edinburgh, EH1 3AT
Free, tickets will be released in July
The Importance of Space is a half-day event which explores the value of artists’ access to space, sharing insights into the studio practices of selected Edinburgh-based artists, voices from Outer Spaces’ Scotland-wide network and a discussion with invited guests.
Outer Spaces has created a temporary community of artists in an empty office block in the heart of Edinburgh City Centre. In addition to hosting the EAF25 Pavilion, the building combines studios with a programme of support for selected Edinburgh artists at different stages in their careers.
The event is an opportunity to explore the value of space from the artist’s point of view. Join us to meet and hear from artists from the Outer Spaces’ Studio Programme in their studios, and from our network. This will be followed by a round table discussion with invited guests, chaired by Outer Spaces Director Shân Edwards on the importance of space.
Studio Programme Tours: 1—2.30pm
Round Table Discussion: 3—5pm
Live Programme: (with refreshments) 5—6pm
