Sculpture Placement Group x Outer Spaces

Kenny Hunter, 'Kontrapunkt - Counterpoint'

Outer Spaces is exploring the role that art and artists can play in the changing face of our public spaces by transforming disused shops into new exhibition spaces. We collaborate with Sculpture Placement Group (SPG) to bring artworks out of storage and into vacant retail unit windows across Scotland. The project supports artists by putting their work on display for a wide range of audiences to see in some of Scotland's busiest high streets and shopping centres. Helping artists to store work for future exhibitions and collections provides a vital step towards building a sustainable career. Our work with SPG helps to preserve artwork while breathing life into transitory public spaces across the country.

Sculpture Placement Group (SPG) is an artist-led organisation based in Glasgow with amission is to innovate, support artists, and ensure that art is a vital part of everyday life. Find out more here.
