A VERY HEAVENLY SOCIAL is an evening of odes, ballads, songs, poems, and toasts that reflect on the experience of being a creative practitioner in Scotland and the communal care necessary to cope during a time of political, economic and climate crisis. We will share our experiences of working from the periphery and discuss how we – as outsiders – can affect cultural change through these gloriously devious ways of being outwith/within the Scottish art world. The event will last for two hours followed by an hour to be social and meet pals old and new. Hosted by artist-collaborators Saoirse Amira Anis and Laura McSorley (Two of Cups) with performances by Shalmali Shetty, Wacera Kamonji, Len Goetzee, Maria Howard, Khadea Santi and a film screening from Natasha Thembiso Ruwona.
